Bourjois Happy Light Foundation Review

I love Bourjois’ products, I think that their range is brilliant for natural classic makeup. I’m a big fan of their Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, and when I saw their Happy Light Foundation I thought I would give it a try. I love natural, dewy makeup and I’m all over a foundation that offers this.

Bourjois claims that the Happy Light foundation “gives a luminous and flawless complexion in any light. Its translucent pigments correct without masking giving your complexion a flawless radiance. Its supple texture glides smoothly onto the skin for a flawless complexion with no caking.”

On first appearance I loved everything about the packaging. The cute smile logo is perfect, and I love the colours on the bottle. I love foundations that come with a built in pump (= practical and less mess!) and it’s compact size is perfect for any makeup bag.

I found the range of shades from Bourjois to be spot on, especially for pale skin like myself! As with all Bourjois products it smells lovely.

On application I found the product very runny on application, however it blended out so well! I tried blending with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, as well as the Beauty Blender, and got a great result.

I found that the foundation gave a very light coverage, and added more of a tint of colour and a nice glow to my complexion. To combat this I added another layer, and this helped to cover any blemishes and give better coverage. The foundation is build able without ending up looking cakey!

Benefit Beauty Bar Experience!

Hello everyone!

Today I was in Edinburgh City Centre to do a bit of shopping after finishing work a bit earlier than usual. I nipped in to Boots on Princes Street to get a few essentials (you know, face wipes, razors and all that jazz). A lovely lady from the Benefit Stand ¬†came up to me and asked if I’d like to try out some of their products. I’m not usually one to go up to beauty counters and ask the sales assistants about products, but I’ve used a variety of Benefit products before and I love them! So I thought it would be a great experience to try some new products and get some hints and tips from the professionals!

First of all they cleansed my face with the ‘Remove It- Makeup Remover’ to clean any makeup on my face for a blank canvas ūüėČ She then applied the ‘Total Moisture Facial Cream’¬†this felt amazing on my skin! The product has a light scent to it, and it feels very cooling when applied to the skin.

She then applied the new ‘POREfessional: matte rescue gel’ as a primer, followed by the¬†‘Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow!¬†Brightening Makeup’ in the shade ‘Believe in me- Ivory’ to¬†one half of my face for me to¬†see the difference. She then finished the rest of my face. It looked fab! My skin definitely looked flawless and it didn’t feel very caked on and like my skin could breath.

They had a 10% off event so I decided to purchase the ‘Total Moisture Facial Cream’ and the ‘Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Brightening Makeup’¬†as I was really impressed by them.

As my skin can flare up with dermatitis with various products, I was a hit reluctant in buying the moisturiser. It felt find at the time of application, but I’ll see how it performs over the next few weeks.

What pushed me to buy it was the 28 day money back grantee that Benefit offer. If the product doesn’t suit you you can return it for a full refund.

I love buying new makeup and trying different brands out. I’ll give them a go for the next couple of week and report back!

In the future I will definitely be more confident in approaching the beauty counters. The expert advice is definitely worth it. I think that once you find out how exactly to use the products the right way for your face, you can get the most out of them!

What are some of your fave Benefit products? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! X
